Financial Accountant (Gaming & Operations): Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with a knack for navigating complex regulatory landscapes? We are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join our team. This pivotal role is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of all gaming-related financial reporting, compliance, and "Cost of Doing Business" accounting. You will be the guardian of our balance sheet, managing high-volume reconciliations and ensuring our financial operations across multiple states remain seamless and compliant. Sound good? Read on. Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role: Gaming Compliance & Revenue Recognition Oversee the calculation and timely lodgement of Gaming Tax returns across all Australian states (QLD, NSW, VIC, SA, TAS, WA, NT). Proactively monitor legislative changes to update accounting logic and internal policies. Review weekly/monthly reconciliations of Net Machine Revenue (NMR) from central monitoring systems (e.g., Bally) to the General Ledger and Bank. Monitor cash float variances and investigate significant discrepancies between gaming meters and physical cash. Financial Reporting & Month-End Lead month-end procedures, including the review and approval of journals and P&L analysis. Support the preparation of annual P&L and balance sheet budgets and reforecasting. Prepare the monthly "Food & Bar GP Summary" and oversee accrual processes for utilities, phone, and sponsorship rebates. Drive efficiencies in existing financial processes and contribute to business-led projects. Balance Sheet & Reconciliations Manage complex balance sheet reconciliations, including Keno, TAB settlements, and high-volume "Cash in Transit." Coordinate with Loss Prevention to investigate shrinkage and manage outstanding venue debtors. Audit & Tax Act as the key contact for half-year and full-year audit programs, preparing work papers and responding to auditor queries. Lead State Revenue Office gaming audits as the primary point of contact.
