About The Position

This role serves as the primary finance leader for Wholesale Deposits and Liquidity products, aligned to Wholesale Payments, within the Wholesale Banking Segment of Truist. In this role, the SFO partners closely with the Head of Wholesale Deposits to report, analyze, price and forecast deposits. The SFO will partner closely with key stakeholders within Payments, Banking, Wealth and Corporate Treasury to align and deliver Truist's deposit and liquidity strategy for Wholesale clients. This role will provide robust management reporting, while advising leaders within Wholesale Payments and Banking on performance within the deposit portfolio, with expert insights related to balance trends, net interest margin, interest expense, rates, beta, FTP, and impacts to LCR / HQLA related to different deposit products. This position reports to the SFO for Enterprise Payments and will be closely aligned to the broad Payments Finance strategic finance agenda.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent education and related training.
  • Twelve years of relevant accounting or finance experience that includes complex financial analysis.
  • Sound and comprehensive understanding of business and organizational strategies and processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interpret and communicate financial analysis to business partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work well with others in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with GAAP, with specific knowledge of GAAP related to supported LOBs.
  • High proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and other basic software products.
  • Financial Modeling experience.

  • Supervisory experience of multiple teams.
  • Specific financial services or specialized industry experience.
  • Proficient in Essbase/Hyperion, EPM/BPC, or other enterprise accounting software.
  • Experience with macros/VBA.
  • Strong understanding of Wholesale Banking and Deposits products.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates and works across the Finance division to ensure integrity of the financials and ensures sound controls and procedures.
  • Supports reporting and analysis for additional constituencies, including Board of Directors, Investor Relations, and various regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinates financial analysis and reporting process workflow within team.
  • Provides leadership, talent development, and mentoring for team members to improve their own technical expertise.
  • Fosters a team environment that promotes diversity and inclusion broadly across the organization.
  • Identifies and resolves technical, operational, risk management, business, and organizational challenges.
  • Prepares and reviews materials to senior leadership summarizing issues and communicating solutions.
  • Leads assigned LOBs through annual planning process, including rationalizing corporate Plan allocated to LOB and adjustments for organizational changes or reinvestments.
  • Serves as central coordination point between the Corporate Financial Planning department, Financial Executives and assigned LOBs to implement corporate directives into the financial plans.
  • Provides financial support and completes other assigned projects, as requested, on an independent level with minimal direction.
  • Supports the quarterly issuance of the LOB Segment Reporting in the Press Release and regulatory filings.
  • Manages the accounting responsibilities for the supported Business Unit(s).
  • Provides first line execution and oversight for financial reporting controls and risk for Finance processes.
