Overview: Manage a team of financial managers who are responsible for supporting the financial analysis activities of major segments of the Bank or for Bank-wide initiatives and programs. Contributes to strategic direction to business line and bank on emerging opportunities and issues as well as developing structure to resolve complex problems. Participate in analysis and provide guidance on investment and project decisions for the business line and the bank. Primary Responsibilities: Directs managers and analysts who are responsible for operations and projects relating to the financial status for the organization, major segments, or Bank-wide initiatives/functions. Work with senior and executive managers to identify emerging opportunities and issues to improve the organization's growth and profitability through revenue enhancements, process/system improvements, cost management, capital management and risk management. Participate in the development and implementation of Finance department goals, contributing to strategic decisions with a comprehensive understanding of the business line or program as well as knowledge of industry/competitor strategies. Coach and develop junior managers for a sustainable bench-strength and resource planning. Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations. Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management. Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand. Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. Complete other related duties as assigned. Scope of Responsibilities: Supervisory/ Managerial Responsibilities: Full supervisory, development of team through professional leadership. Possess ability to direct/persuade/influence across division and peers throughout the bank.
