About The Position

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a pivotal role within the FP&A function, driving strategic decision‑making through robust financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis. Requirements

  • Professional finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a project‑based defence or engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of project‑based accounting and earned value management (EVM) principles.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using ERP systems and reporting tools such as SAP, Infor LN, IFS, Deltek Cobra, Hyperion, or similar.
  • Proven track record of collaborating effectively with management teams across an organisation.
  • Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Overhead rates management - Develop, maintain, and refine business overhead rate structures to support pricing, planning, and cost allocation.
  • Financial planning, analysis, and forecasting - Deliver accurate budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning to support strategic decision‑making.
  • Business partnering - Collaborate closely with Heads of Department and project management teams, providing financial insight and challenge to drive performance.
  • Project finance control and reporting - Oversee financial governance across assigned projects, ensuring accurate cost tracking, variance analysis, and timely reporting to support effective project delivery.
  • Process and systems improvement - Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and strengthen internal controls.
  • Strategic support - Contribute to strategic initiatives, scenario modelling, and decision support for senior leadership.
  • Contract pricing support - Assist with pricing exercises for new and existing contracts, ensuring financial robustness and competitiveness.
  • Other ad-hoc financial analysis - Provide insightful analysis as required to support operational and strategic priorities across the business.
