About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance, or a master's degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of eight years applicable experience in accounting or finance (or twelve years for other business-related degrees).
  • Expert understanding of accounting and finance practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Expert investigational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Solid customer-service skills with the ability to address customer needs timely.
  • Advanced knowledge of large accounting and/or grant management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and lead complex projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a business-related field or CPA, CMA, or CIA certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assure the integrity of financial and statistical data through preparation or review of general ledger entries, reports, schedules, and reconciliations.
  • Provide leadership in a team environment supporting complex multidisciplinary activities or projects.
  • Communicate and present information effectively to various audiences.
  • Develop unique management financial information using reporting tools with significant institutional impact.
  • Recognize problems, formulate solutions, and implement change in finance, accounting, or compliance areas.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain programs and tools for financial reporting for complex activities.
  • Interpret and implement accounting rules, fiscal compliance, policies, and regulations.
  • Identify opportunities for increasing financial margins while minimizing risks.
  • Develop variable-sensitive business models and compliance management tools.
  • Provide expert analytical, financial, accounting, and compliance support to department and institutional leadership.
  • Mentor, coach, and train staff, and lead institutional workgroups or complex projects.
