The Sr. Finance Analyst – Operations Business Partner is responsible for providing strategic decision-making support to the business with a focus on Operations. This role will work cross-functionally with Technical Operations, Customer Care, Finance, Sales & Marketing, and Construction to provide insights and analytics, to optimize the operation of the business. This role requires strong business acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly.

  • Serve as the primary finance liaison to operations or designated business areas.
  • Support development of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans.
  • Track and analyze monthly spend vs. budget, providing variance analysis and actionable recommendations.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and efficiency improvements in operating expenses.
  • Analyze activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department’s progress toward goals and corrective actions.
  • Assisting with scenario planning and ad hoc financial analysis.
  • Develop operational KPIs and clearly communicate them to all stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain data models to support forecasting and strategic planning.
  • Enhance reporting tools and processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.
  • Create monthly and quarterly reporting packages for the Board of Directors, including variance to budget, forecast, and prior year.
  • Identifying opportunities to gain efficiencies within the system applications.
  • Create specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required data elements.
  • Perform data validation and reconciliation for reporting and KPI accuracy.
  • Research system data exceptions and provide resolutions.
  • Assisting with implementation and support of business information systems across multiple departments.
  • Partnering with cross-functional teams to gather data insights, ensure alignment between financial plans and operational strategies.
  • Provide decision support for business cases, and strategic initiatives.
  • Analyze complex business problems using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers.
  • Optimize business performance through analysis of operational and financial KPIs.
  • Review, analyze and support the implementation of retention strategies for customers.
  • Present insights and recommendations to executive teams.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for senior management.
  • Participate in formulating long-range goals and objectives.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business Management or STEM related field from a four-year college or university.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis or business analysis, business partnering and decision support with exposure to FP&A.
  • Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools: Advanced MS Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, SQL, Datarails, Vena and/or other planning, analysis, and reporting tools.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven ability to partner with senior leaders.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage and advance multiple concurrent projects, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality.
  • Able to utilize systems and data to effectively deliver actionable business intelligence/insights to key stakeholders.
  • Skilled in analyzing complex datasets, extracting actionable insights, and presenting findings in clear terms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Motivated initiative-taker with ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • M.B.A, Master’s degree in Finance or Business Analytics preferred.
