We’re searching for a Senior Field Service Technician to join our growing Field Operations team and play a key role in driving our vision forward. As a Senior Field Service Technician, you will be at the heart of our customer success and operational excellence, providing hands-on technical expertise to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair cutting-edge public transit Mobile Video System equipment. Your work ensures safety, reliability, and performance across transit bus fleets.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. AS degree or equivalent military technical training preferred.
  • At least 3 years of technical experience; experience in a manufacturing or transit environment preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams (preferred).
  • Technical Savvy: Proficiency with electrical systems, automotive wiring, voltmeters, and small tools.
  • Customer Focus: Strong interpersonal skills to handle demanding situations and deliver exceptional service.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose, resolve, and communicate complex technical issues effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site service visits to perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and corrective repairs on transit system buses equipped with mobile video and electronic systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and electronic components, including wiring harnesses, connectors, fuses, relays, and circuit boards, using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical installations for retrofits and system upgrades, including routing cables, terminating connectors, and mounting hardware.
  • Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions by isolating faults, replacing defective components, and verifying system performance through functional testing.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers and field personnel to escalate complex issues, interpret technical documentation, and implement corrective actions.
  • Document service activities including wiring changes, part replacements, and troubleshooting steps to ensure accurate service records and compliance with customer standards.
  • Travel occasionally within the U.S. to support retrofits, new system startups, and advanced troubleshooting projects
