Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Technical Field or 10 years equivalent experience.
• 5 years of network engineering and programmatic experience.
• Solid understanding of IP networking including routing (BGP, OSPF), switching, encapsulation, addressing protocols, VPN, MPLS.
• Experience with enterprise networks and DoD's NIPRNet and SIPRNet.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to build trusting relationships on a global team.
• Well versed in network security principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Providing network engineering expertise to the U.S Government supporting Akamai services and their implementations on Government networks.
• Engineering, managing, and implementing Akamai equipment and capabilities supporting Government programs, providing operational continuity between Government and Akamai.
• Acting as Government's subject matter expert on Akamai technologies.
• Traveling to global Department of Defense facilities.
• Building network configurations.
• Documenting networks and device inventory.
