About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Senior Field Engineer in Portsmouth, VA. The role involves building and testing hardware and software for Windows and Nutanix based systems, patching for computer and network devices, and conducting PITCO testing and setup of hardware. The engineer will troubleshoot technical problems and issues, determine technical solutions in accordance with product and customer specifications, and log and respond to site tickets. Additionally, the engineer will troubleshoot legacy physical hardware and repair units for system sustainment, assess product needs in accordance with customer specifications, act as a local on-site representative to the customer organization, participate in site system integrations, and update system and process documentation as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years or more experience or Master's degree and three (3) years or more experience; years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Technical Training in Electronics, Computers, or Networking or successful completion of U.S. Navy electronics 'C' school.
  • Experience in C4I Systems environments to include: systems requirements, operational requirements, test and evaluation.
  • Must be able to obtain a CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CASP certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Must have an active Secret security clearance to start and then must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance. Top Secret preferred.
  • Experience building and installing infrastructure.
  • Must be able to obtain U.S. Passport.
  • Up to 25% CONUS/OCONUS travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Update system and process documentation as needed.
