Integrated Silicon Solution, Inc. (ISSI) is seeking a Senior Field Application Engineer (FAE) specializing in Flash memory products—including NOR Flash, NAND Flash, eMMC, and UFS—to join our technical team. This role will provide advanced technical support to customers and sales teams, enabling successful design-in and integration of ISSI's memory solutions into a wide range of embedded, automotive, and industrial applications. The Sr. FAE will serve as a key technical interface between customers, internal R D, and product marketing teams, driving adoption of ISSI's Flash portfolio.

  • Strong understanding of Flash memory architectures, timing interfaces (SPI, QSPI, Octal, ONFI, JEDEC standards), and system-level integration.
  • Familiarity with SoC and embedded systems (ARM-based, FPGA, or microcontroller platforms).
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and customer interaction skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple customer projects concurrently.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and at all organizational levels.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25-30% to support customer engagements, training, and trade shows.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with memory ICs, specifically NOR/NAND Flash, eMMC, or UFS.
  • Experience with memory test tools, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers.
  • Working knowledge of Linux/Android storage stack or embedded operating systems.
  • Familiarity with automotive qualification standards (AEC-Q100, ISO 26262) and reliability testing.
  • Prior experience in customer-facing FAE or system engineering roles within a semiconductor or memory company.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in bootloader development, firmware bring-up, and storage driver validation a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for customers integrating ISSI's Flash memory products (NOR, NAND, eMMC, UFS) into their systems.
  • Support customer design-in activities, including schematic review, signal integrity analysis, bootloader/firmware integration, and system bring-up.
  • Validate Flash devices on multiple platforms and reference boards (ARM SoCs, FPGAs, and standard development kits).
  • Collaborate closely with R D and Product Marketing to define new product requirements and ensure alignment with customer roadmaps.
  • Develop and publish technical documentation such as application notes, reference designs, FAQs, and training materials.
  • Conduct technical training sessions for customers, field sales engineers, and manufacturer's reps.
  • Analyze customer issues, perform root-cause analysis, and work with internal teams to deliver corrective actions.
  • Research and evaluate emerging Flash technologies and use cases, ensuring ISSI solutions remain competitive in performance, reliability, and compatibility.
