About The Position

The position involves designing and developing multi-fiber module packaging for fiber optic devices and modules, focusing on creating the physical structures, including enclosure, fiber mounting, connection, and sealing. The role requires conducting packaging design simulations and analyses to meet operating conditions, such as vibration, shock, and environmental testing. Additionally, the candidate will select appropriate materials considering thermal stability, mechanical strength, and thermal expansion, while identifying vendors for parts. Responsibilities also include generating specifications to satisfy performance requirements and cost targets, developing manufacturing fixtures, inspection processes, and running reliability/qualification tests to verify performance and reliability of the optical module. The candidate will release designs to manufacturing and lead the transfer to production, providing technical support and failure analysis as needed.
