Location Overview Cboe HQ is located in the historic Old Post Office district, it’s a landmark that blends classic architecture with modern amenities. The building features expansive spaces with high ceilings and large windows, offering an abundance of natural light and panoramic views of the city skyline and the Chicago River. With its prime location in the heart of downtown, the OPO Building provides easy access to major transportation hubs, including Union Station and multiple CTA lines, making it convenient for commuters. The building is home to a variety of amenities, including restaurants, a fitness center, and collaborative workspaces, creating a vibrant and dynamic work environment in one of Chicago's most iconic areas. Role Overview The Senior Facility Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and safety of all company facilities, and will report into the Senior Director of Facilities. This role requires experience with small to medium project management abilities to plan, execute, and deliver facility-related projects on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, contractors, and vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in facility management, building operations, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of people management or supervisory experience required.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects up to $100k budgets, and work well with teams under pressure.
  • Proficiency with facility management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong, proven project management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security, etc.).
  • Ability to effectively create and manage operational budgets for facility operations. and projects, including cost estimation and procurement.
  • Familiar with CAD.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic oversight of day-to-day facilities operations across multiples sites.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, and services (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, janitorial) operate reliably, safely and efficiently.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for critical facilities issues and emergency response coordination.
  • Ensure effective communication is occurring with key stakeholders through virtual and in- person meetings regularly.
  • Be familiar with setting timelines, reading blueprints, allocating resources, and monitoring progress to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers for facility repairs, construction, and maintenance services.
  • Conduct regular vendor and Landlord performance reviews and lead corrective action plans as needed.
  • Respond promptly to facility emergencies and resolve issues efficiently to minimize disruption to operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of facility assets, maintenance activities, and project documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for facility improvements and sustainability initiatives.
  • Manage coordination with internal departments (technology, infrastructure) to ensure project meets overall requirements.
  • Lead, coach, and develop facilities staff, project managers, and site teams.
  • Set performance goals, conduct reviews, and build succession plans.
  • Establish standardized processes, playbooks, and best practices across locations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, ADA, fire/life safety, environmental).
  • Lead workplace safety programs, audits, and inspections.
  • Manage incident reporting, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Partner with legal, risk, and security teams on insurance claims, risk mitigation, and emergency preparedness.
