The position involves diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues in utilities/production equipment, control/automation systems, and facility infrastructure. The role requires reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to facilitate repairs. Preventive maintenance on electrical components is essential to prevent unplanned downtime. The technician will also perform or assist in the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and HVAC equipment, while recommending improvements to preventive maintenance activities. Collaboration with Facilities/Project engineers is necessary to ensure integrated system functionality. The technician will support the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards. Participation in continuous improvement programs and suggesting process enhancements to improve equipment reliability and efficiency is expected. The role also includes upgrading existing systems with new electrical components and technology enhancements, maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system modifications, and ensuring all work adheres to pharmaceutical industry regulations, including GMP standards, OSHA standards, and National Electrical Code (NEC). The technician will participate in safety audits and implement corrective actions as necessary, collaborate with multi-functional teams, and offer training and mentorship to junior technicians and production staff on equipment operation and maintenance guidelines.
