The Senior Facilities Specialist, Electrical & Mechanical is responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues in utilities/production equipment, control/automation systems, and facility infrastructure. The role involves reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to facilitate repairs. Preventive maintenance on electrical components is a key responsibility to prevent unplanned downtime. The specialist will also perform or assist in the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and HVAC equipment. Recommendations for improvements to preventive maintenance activities are expected, as well as collaboration with Facilities/Project engineers to ensure integrated system functionality. The role supports the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards. Participation in continuous improvement programs and suggesting process enhancements to improve equipment reliability and efficiency is also part of the job. The specialist will upgrade existing systems with new electrical components and technology enhancements, maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system modifications, and ensure all work adheres to pharmaceutical industry regulations, including GMP standards, OSHA standards, and National Electrical Code (NEC). Safety audits participation and implementation of corrective actions as necessary are required. Collaboration with multi-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and engineering, to support manufacturing objectives is essential. The specialist will also offer training and mentorship to junior technicians and production staff on equipment operation and maintenance guidelines.
