About The Position

The Senior Facilities Electrical Engineer will work closely with the Sr. Manager for Facilities and Maintenance to achieve departmental objectives. This role involves planning, coordinating, delivering, and overseeing the installation and maintenance of various electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, HVAC controls, fire alarm systems, and backup power systems. The engineer will also manage capital projects related to facility electrical upgrades, expansions, and energy efficiency initiatives, while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal electrical codes and standards. Additionally, the engineer will lead energy management and sustainability programs, coordinate with external vendors, and maintain accurate documentation of electrical systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing facilities.
  • Strong focus on electrical systems.
  • Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
  • Excellent understanding of electrical power systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP).
  • Knowledge of PLCs, motor controls, and industrial automation systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, deliver and oversee the installation and maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Manage capital projects related to facility electrical upgrades and energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues to minimize downtime.
  • Perform load calculations, short-circuit analysis, and arc flash assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes and standards.
  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance plans for electrical systems.
  • Lead and support energy management and sustainability programs.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of electrical systems and facility drawings.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance and operations teams.
  • Participate in safety programs and facility audits.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards.
  • Manage the Campus PV systems, EV systems, and onsite Microgrid.
  • Develop and maintain critical spares inventory.
  • Assist with ensuring the security of employees and capital assets.
