Boeing Global Services is searching for Senior F-18 General Mechanic/Structures Lead willing to on 1st or 2nd shift at Naval Air Station (NAS) Joint Reserve Base (JRB) New Orleans in Belle Chase, Louisiana. This position is eligible for a Stipend payment in addition to salary for eligible candidates. Position Responsibilities: Leads the assembly, disassembly and modification of systems by overseeing the change, removal, replacement or upgrade of aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes. Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul. Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment. Directs troubleshooting of complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components. Oversees validation/verification testing of systems and components. Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results). Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements. Leads and supervises others to perform tasks associated with the safe handling of an aerospace vehicle (e.g. jacking, towing, system operations). Provides training and mentors others. Works under minimal direction. Structures Mechanic : Able to perform close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures and fracture critical areas. Ability and understanding of locating blind holes necessary for installation of new structural items to existing structure. Perform efforts associated with sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving structure in accordance with standard repair processes. Demonstrates the capability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specification, and retrofit requirements to perform structural modification/repair. Experienced in the use of tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair of structural parts. General Mechanic: Performs end-of-runway, postflight, preflight, thru-flight, and phase inspections. Performs coordinated combat turns and hot pit refuels. Advises on problems maintaining, servicing, and inspecting aircraft and related aerospace equipment. Uses technical data to diagnose and address maintenance problems on aircraft systems. Interprets and advises on maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft and related equipment. Solves problems and maintains aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment. Removes and installs aircraft components. Conducts functional tests of repaired components and systems. Adjusts, aligns, and rigs aircraft systems. Supervises and performs aircraft jacking, lifting, and towing operations. Performs aircraft and component operational checks. Interprets inspection findings and resolves adequacy of corrective actions. Inspects and checks components for clearances, tolerances, proper installation, and operation. Inspects and operates powered and non-powered aerospace ground equipment. Inspects and identifies aircraft corrosion for prevention and repair. Reviews maintenance forms, aircraft records, automated maintenance data systems, and historical reports to ensure complete documentation. Inventories and maintains aircraft equipment.
