About The Position

The Senior Expert, Art Direction, Global Brand Creative, Energy Sport, is a key member of the Nike Brand Creative's Energy Sport Creative team, responsible for delivering world-class creative execution and innovative storytelling. This role involves partnering directly with a culturally influential collaborator to co-create visuals, films, and experiences for both Nike and the collaborator's brand. The leader will drive a new, boundary-pushing visual direction for this collaboration, encompassing world-building, campaign ideation and execution, branding, and experience design. The work aims to elevate the aesthetic and cultural boundaries of sport through a strong creative partnership, aligned with Nike’s Global creative direction. The Senior Expert will collaborate with the Sr. Creative Director, Producers, and other Art Directors on the Nike Global Energy Brand Creative team, as well as internal teams like Brand Marketing Directors, Brand Creative Leadership, Narrative Leads, Retail Design, Digital Design, Production, and Operations, and external agencies. This role leads a multidisciplinary design team, overseeing the look and feel of the collaboration sub-brand, including campaigns, design, art direction, and motion, ensuring strategic alignment with collaboration goals and Nike's creative principles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education and experience, and training.
  • Creative leadership – works with Sr. Creative Directors to inspire and guide multidisciplinary design teams through ambiguity and complexity.
  • Mastery of art direction & design knowledge – deliver outstanding photography, graphic design, video content, experiences and digital design in service of sport category, on time and within budget.
  • Significant experience working in entertainment, and / or with tier 1 celebrities or cultural figures.
  • Strategic communication – effectively applies visual skills to communicate complex ideas, aligning stakeholders with clarity and influence.
  • Collaboration & influence – builds trust across cross-functional teams and external partners (photographers, filmmakers, illustrators, designers).
  • Entrepreneurial Drive – proactively identifies opportunities and drives innovation.
  • Talent magnetism – helps attract, mentor, and retain top creative talent.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Co-creation – find the right opportunities for Nike and the entertainer to co-create in ways that suits both brands, and pushes both entities to areas they couldn’t go by themselves. Maintain the health of the relationship by ensuring that both sides are adequately involved and in support of the overarching vision as well as the individual projects.
  • Elevating the craft & storytelling – be responsible for consistent level of deliverables across Art & Design, constantly elevating Nike’s Design and Art Direction output.
  • Support studios with hands-on creative work – encourage and lead innovative thinking, collaboration, and execution on the day to day of the projects.
  • Represent creative in reviews with leadership.
  • Provide inspiration for the discipline – push sport imaging, sport graphic design & sport motion into the future with regular trend reports. Stay ahead of emerging trends, helping set what’s next.
  • Cross-functional collaboration – be responsible for elevating the Art Direction across all brand touch points: Retail, Digital, Media, E-commerce, Brand Voice, Styling and geo executions.
  • Industry & sport culture connectivity – demonstrate an active interest and connection with the creative industry through event attendance, talent scouting and trend leadership.
