About The Position

Operates and monitors company plants and facilities, typically Upstream facilities after primary separation and processing (such as gas and co-gen plants) and Downstream & Chemical refineries and plants. Monitors process variables, troubleshoots, and performs interventions to maintain operating performance. Performs routine tasks independently. General supervision of non-routine work. Has basic knowledge of Chevron policies and practices Manufacturing Operations is accepting applications for the position of Senior Experienced Operator located in El Segundo, California, through February 16th, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) of work experience as a Process Operator with Console or Head Operator qualifications on the process technologies listed above.
  • Must be able to work a rotating 12-hour shift, overtime as required and on-call.
  • This is a Safety Sensitive Position.
  • Candidates must demonstrate personal commitment to Incident and Injury Free Operations with a proven track record in Safety and Reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge of Crude unit operations, Hydrogen producing, Hydroprocessing, and H2S processing units and has the ability to relate it to others.
  • Operates furnaces, pumps, compressors, and other mechanical equipment, that process raw materials, feedstocks, product transfers.
  • Performs other assigned duties such as maintenance, repairs, housekeeping and emergency response requirements
  • Displays a comprehensive understanding of refinery policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate ability to be a problem solver.
  • Able to grasp complex issues and apply good problem-solving skills to develop recommendations/solutions
