KBR is looking for a Principal Specialist, Procurement uses specialized knowledge or skills to solve complex and unique problems. You will be responsible for selecting and negotiating with approved suppliers and placing purchase orders in response to product requirements. The incumbent uses judgment to interpret internal and external issues and develop best practices and may direct resources, prioritize tasks, and provide guidance to less experienced team members. You will rely upon experience, people skills, and broad knowledge of field to ensure task completion in compliance with policies, procedures, and business strategy. The position involves a great deal of organizing, work prioritization and related skills, and/or a great deal of peer interface is necessary to properly complete tasks via teamwork. Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Negotiate and execute purchase contracts. Negotiate and deliver cost savings to meet business requirements and procurement organization objectives. Sources materials, equipment, and services and leads the solicitation of competitive bids with pertinent specifications, terms, and conditions. Leads development of evaluation approach and assessments. Conducts commercial reviews of complex procurement packages. Coordinates and leads bid meetings, final negotiations, and drafting/final purchase documents. Coordinate closeout of purchase orders, finalize outstanding contract issues, issue final modifications, invoices, and coordinate completion of supplier performance evaluations. Maintains supplier relationships and resolves complex supplier issues. Maintains a cost reduction, cost avoidance, and cost containment program in accordance with published guidelines. Establishes and maintains communications with client representatives and project staff through meetings, telephone and web conferences, and reports to provide client satisfaction. Prepares, maintains, and communicates records, reports, or documents that may be required to meet management requirements. Prepares and maintains all electronic and hard copy files. Participates in development of bid assessment matrix and participate in risk reviews. Participates in project functional audits. Coordinates the timely issue/distribution/response of documents to suppliers. Knowledgeable in Microsoft tools; specifically: Word and Excel and Power Point.
