About The Position

Leads all district financial reporting operations, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with GAAP, GASB, and federal/state grant regulations. Provides strategic oversight across accounting, budget development, procurement reporting, and compliance audits to safeguard the fiscal integrity of the organization.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's preferred).
CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
7-10 years of progressively responsible experience - ideally in not-for-profit or government industries
Grant reporting experience required
Experience leading large-scale ERP or Skyward-based systems.

Responsibilities

Oversee financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance and alignment
Manage and review all submissions to auditors and governing boards.
Direct consolidation and analysis of data from budgeting, accounting, and AP to support financial decision-making.
Lead the preparation of AFR, financial submissions, and audit responses.
Provide strategic recommendations to CFO and leadership on fund balance, capital projects, and multi-year forecasts.
Supervise and mentors accountants in grants (local, state and federal), construction in progress, bonds, investments, receivables, fixed assets, financial reporting and accounting leadership teams.
Collaborate with IT, HR, and operations to improve integration between Skyward SMS 2.0, Bill.com, and reporting systems.
Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly financial statements.
Maintain accounting accuracy across all fund types.
Collaborate with Budget and Accounting to reconcile expenditures and grants.
Coordinate financial audits, ensuring timely delivery of requests and responses.
Review and monitor balance sheet accounts for accuracy.
Assist in developing financial dashboards and performance metrics.
Train campus leaders on financial compliance and reporting expectations.
