The Role: The Senior Executive Assistant will provide dedicated, high-level support to the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) at Generate:Biomedicines and partner closely with members of the Scientific Leadership Team. This role supports a large, complex, and highly technical scientific organization and requires exceptional judgment, executive presence, discretion, and the ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The Senior Executive Assistant serves as a critical extension of the CSO, enabling effective leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and operational excellence across the scientific organization. This is a non-exempt, office-based role, requiring a regular four to five days per week on-site presence to support real-time collaboration with the CSO and senior scientific leaders.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of administrative experience supporting senior executives, with C-suite support experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a scientific, technical, or highly complex executive environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Proven track record of handling sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion.
  • Strong executive presence with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and adaptable approach to supporting a dynamic and demanding organization.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office Suite; experience with advanced digital tools or data analytics is a plus.
  • High level of commitment, including availability after hours and on weekends as business needs require.

  • Biotech or life sciences industry experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level administrative and operational support to the CSO, including management of complex and fluid calendars, executive communications, and high-impact meetings.
  • Support strategic planning and execution by preparing materials for scientific leadership meetings, cross-functional operating reviews, and Board- or investor-facing discussions.
  • Manage highly confidential, sensitive, and time-critical information with discretion and sound judgment.
  • Independently manage diverse and competing priorities, ensuring work is completed to a consistently high standard.
  • Anticipate the needs of the CSO and proactively identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve processes, and address potential issues before they arise.
  • Apply strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in support of a fast-moving scientific organization.
  • Serve as a key point of coordination between the CSO, senior scientific leaders, executive leadership, and cross-functional partners.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including research collaborators and senior leaders across the enterprise.
  • Navigate complex, technical, and high-stakes interactions with professionalism, clarity, and executive presence.
  • Support a large, multi-layered scientific organization, coordinating across research, development, and broader leadership teams.
  • Contribute to enterprise-level initiatives and special projects as needed, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and timelines.
  • Act as a collaborative member of the Executive Assistant team, partnering with peers to ensure seamless support across the enterprise.
  • Lead by example, modeling best practices in executive administration, communication, and strategic support.
  • Accurately and efficiently manage day-to-day activities, including meeting planning, travel arrangements, expense reporting, and coordination across multiple stakeholders.
  • Support candidate interview logistics, including scheduling interviews, coordinating onsite visits, and partnering with Talent and hiring leaders to ensure a seamless candidate experience.
  • Leverage digital tools, data, and technology to enhance efficiency and support informed executive decision-making.
