About the position

This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision, Indianapolis, IN Field Office of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of examining and supervising insured financial institutions, leading sound policy development, evaluating resolution plans, and monitoring and mitigating systemic risks. Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill identical vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and/or conducts bank supervision and examination functions, with a view toward assessing risk, as well as strengthening and improving the condition of the assigned organization, as appropriate.
  • Maintains an informed position on the assigned organization and analyzes financial or other information filed or reported in accordance with regulatory requirements or from other sources.
  • Conducts ongoing analysis and evaluation of the financial condition, business initiatives, and future prospects of the assigned organization and its affiliates to assess the potential risk to the Deposit Insurance Fund.
  • Reviews all developments applicable to insured financial institutions and their affiliates in the assigned organization, including accounting, reporting, and regulatory changes, as well as new activities and products.
  • Prepares written reports summarizing the results of analyses, and communicating findings, recommendations, and related supervisory action.
  • Communicates with financial institution management, and effectively responds to or resolves their questions, complaints, and inquiries in line with FDIC protocols.
  • Initiates, conducts, or acts as lead in conferences or meetings with other supervisory agencies and bank officials.
  • Maintains cooperative relationships with the appropriate state, Federal, and international supervisory agencies.

Requirements

  • Completion Of Financial Disclosure May Be Required.
  • Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) required.
  • Employee may be relocated to any duty location to meet management needs.
  • To qualify for CG-13, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS/CG-12 grade level or above in the Federal service.
  • To qualify for CG-14, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS/CG-13 grade level or above in the Federal service.
  • Applicants must be a Commissioned Risk Examiner in the FDIC.
  • There is no substitution of education for the experience for this position.
