About The Position

We’re looking for a Senior Event Manager to build and own Clutch’s external events program from the ground up. This isn’t just execution, it’s full ownership of strategy, planning, and outcomes across conferences, field marketing, customer events, and sponsorships. You’ll take what exists today, audit it, improve it, and scale it into a high-impact, revenue-driving channel. This role sits at the intersection of Marketing and Sales, with clear accountability for pipeline contribution, brand presence, and customer engagement. This is a high-autonomy role for someone who knows how to operate both strategically and tactically. One day you’re defining event strategy and ROI frameworks, the next you’re on-site running a flagship activation. If you’re someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, enjoys building from scratch, and knows how to turn events into real business impact, this is for you. Please note you will be traveling up to 50% of the time.

Requirements

  • 7+ years owning events in a fast-paced environment, preferably in SaaS and/or Fintech
  • Event strategy & program ownership: Proven ability to build and execute a multi-format external events strategy that ladders up to business goals, not just logistics execution
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Strong track record of partnering with Sales, Marketing, and Leadership to align events with pipeline and GTM objectives, without a team to lean on
  • Project & budget management: Highly organized self-starter who can manage multiple events simultaneously, own budgets end-to-end, and keep complex timelines on track independently
  • Vendor & agency management: Experience sourcing, negotiating with, and holding accountable external partners, venues, production agencies, AV, catering, to deliver quality outcomes
  • Sponsorship & activation expertise: Ability to evaluate, negotiate, and maximize ROI from third-party sponsorships and brand activations across conferences and field events
  • Data-driven mindset: Comfortable defining KPIs, tracking event performance, and translating results into actionable insights that inform future strategy
  • Adaptability & scrappiness: Thrives in a fast-moving environment, can context-switch between high-level strategy and on-the-ground execution, and knows how to do more with less
  • Communication & stakeholder management: Clear, confident communicator who can influence without authority and keep senior stakeholders informed and aligned

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a full audit of the existing events program — budget, vendors, processes, and past performance — and identify quick wins and gaps
  • Build and own the master events calendar across conferences, field marketing, customer events, and sponsorships
  • Establish relationships with key vendors, venues, and agency partners to support a scaled program
  • Define success metrics and a reporting framework for all external events
  • Independently execute 2–3 flagship events end-to-end, from strategy and logistics to on-site management and post-event reporting
  • Develop repeatable playbooks and SOPs for each event type (conferences, customer events, field marketing, sponsorships)
  • Build a sponsorship evaluation framework to ensure activations are selected and negotiated for maximum ROI
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to align event pipeline contribution goals and integrate events into broader GTM motions
  • Own and scale a full-year events calendar that drives measurable pipeline, brand awareness, and customer engagement
  • Launch at least one net-new event format or expanded activation that elevates Clutch's presence in the market
  • Deliver a post-mortem and optimization plan across all event types, with data-backed recommendations for the following year's strategy
  • Operate as the internal authority on events, managing cross-functional stakeholders and a growing budget with full autonomy

Benefits

  • Remote Flexibility: Enjoy the freedom of remote work from anywhere, balancing life and career seamlessly.
  • Unforgettable Off-Sites: Twice a year, bond with colleagues in exciting destinations, fostering teamwork and fresh ideas.
  • Paid Time Off: Enjoy flexible PTO days yearly for relaxation and rejuvenation.
  • Stock Options: Joining us means having a stake in our success, so you'll receive stock options as part of your compensation package.
  • Home Office Setup: Create your ideal workspace with a dedicated budget for home office essentials.
  • Work Trip Budget: Grow personally and professionally with a budget for work-related trips and co-working.
  • Health Coverage: Prioritize your well-being with comprehensive health and dental insurance plans.
