The position involves actively supporting the Company's commitment to safety and its Core Values. Responsibilities include discerning take-off elements of work, assigning them to the appropriate items in the database, and making recommendations to change standard database items to reflect field conditions. The role also involves soliciting subcontract and vendor pricing, evaluating bids, identifying deficiencies in RFx, Scope of Work (SOW), and drawings, and implementing strategies to mitigate these deficiencies. The estimator will develop quantity-based estimates from limited data, monitor project scope, ensure estimates are traceable to defining documents, and prepare bridging documents to demonstrate understanding of cost changes. Participation in estimate, proposal, and constructability reviews is required, along with organizing estimates to meet project needs and estimating requirements for labor, materials, and equipment. The position may require developing preliminary lifting plans and resource-loaded schedules, understanding project cash flow, and performing risk analysis.
