About The Position

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to support large-scale, high-value data center construction projects. This role is ideal for professionals with deep experience in cost estimating and a strong understanding of the complexities involved in delivering mission-critical facilities. To be successful in this role you must have great communication skills and be comfortable operating in a client-facing role. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 6+ years of experience in estimating, preferably on large-scale or mission-critical projects.
  • Strong understanding of CSA scopes and general construction systems for data centers.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools such as Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, CostX, and familiarity with industry-specific estimating platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of cost planning principles, lifecycle costing, and pre-construction services.
  • Experience with budgeting, bid analysis, and procurement processes.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical documents and provide clear cost insights to stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with contract administration and compliance standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities for client and contractor engagement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed estimates for large-scale data center projects across civil, structural, architectural (CSA) scopes, and related systems.
  • Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and technical documents to develop accurate cost projections.
  • Develop and maintain cost databases and benchmarking for construction systems.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure alignment on scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Conduct risk assessments and value engineering to optimize project costs.
  • Support bid evaluations and provide recommendations based on cost analysis.
  • Prepare cost reports and present findings to internal teams and clients.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing, and emerging technologies in construction.
  • Assist in developing procurement strategies and contractor selection.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and validate subcontractor proposals for accuracy and completeness.
  • Participate in design reviews to provide input on cost implications and constructability.
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities through alternative materials or methods.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to stay informed on pricing and availability.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
