About The Position

Marina Landscape, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead our Estimating Department in Orange, CA. This is a supervisory-level role ideal for someone with a strong background in commercial construction, landscape, and hardscape estimating who’s ready to grow within a well-established company.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of estimating experience in landscape, hardscape, or commercial construction
  • Strong understanding of blueprints, scopes, labor, and material costing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, estimating software (MEP preferred)
  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to Commute: Orange, CA 92868 (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual English/Spanish or Vietnamese is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Estimating Department, ensuring all bids meet quality and profitability standards
  • Review bid turnover packages for accuracy and completeness
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and scopes of work to determine project requirements
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor quotes
  • Develop and maintain accurate production rates and cost databases
  • Manage and update estimating tools and company-specific software (e.g., MEP)
  • Coordinate with Business Development on bid schedules, strategy, and handoff
  • Evaluate final bid proposals for completeness and alignment with company goals
  • Ensure bid projects are properly entered and tracked in company systems
  • Lead pre-bid meetings and collaborate with operations teams for constructability input
  • Identify cost trends and provide solutions to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency
  • Oversee the selection and negotiation of subcontractors and vendors
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate junior estimators and support staff
  • Provide regular updates and reporting on departmental performance, hit rates, and pipeline
  • Support internal departments by providing cost data and historical pricing analysis
  • Maintain compliance with company estimating standards, policies, and procedures
  • Continuously improve estimating procedures to reduce discrepancies and increase win rates
  • Attend job walks, client meetings, and post-bid debriefs as necessary
  • Provide exceptional internal and external customer service through timely and accurate communication
