About The Position

PCI is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator for its PCI Atlanta operations based in Smyrna, GA. This individual will be responsible for performing quantitative takeoffs on construction projects, establishing labor productivities for estimates, maintaining positive relationships with area vendors for competitive material and equipment pricing, soliciting subcontractor pricing for work done outside of our self-perform group, and understanding market conditions including competitive approach, backlog, level of risk for work, and other factors for establishing margin percentages. The role also involves participating in internal bid reviews with supervisors and project teams, creating and maintaining positive customer relations, contract administration for secured projects, preparing wage and benefit schedules, and assisting in the hand-off of secured projects to the Operations Team. Additionally, the position may involve assisting in other duties such as change order management or billings depending on the project(s). This position is safety sensitive.

Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of estimating construction projects.
  • Experience with estimating/project management/managing specialty scopes of construction.
  • Strong ability to read, understand and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI’s scopes of work.
  • Strong record of establishing and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and cost analysis.
  • Ability to accurately read schedules for sequencing and durations of applicable scopes of work.
  • Proficiency with computer takeoff & estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff and Quickbid.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science or Construction Management.
  • Experience with working with union representatives.
  • Experience with interior construction scopes.
  • OSHA Certification.
