We are looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Estimator with expertise in electrical and telecom/fiber systems to support us in delivering multiple hyperscale data center projects for one of the top technology clients in the world. This is a remote, client-facing role that demands strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, as well as in-depth knowledge of electrical and low-voltage construction estimating. You will be instrumental in the preconstruction phase, developing detailed cost estimates, evaluating subcontractor proposals, and supporting the project team to meet budget, scope, and scheduling goals. The Senior Estimator will ensure accurate cost forecasting, support value engineering efforts, and collaborate with stakeholders across disciplines to deliver competitive and high-quality estimates for complex hyperscale programs.

Requirements

• 12+ years of construction estimating experience, with a focus on electrical and telecom/fiber systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proven estimation experience in commercial, industrial, or mission-critical facilities.
• Strong understanding of structured cabling, fiber optics, MV/LV power distribution, and electrical systems.
• Proficient in interpreting design documents, one-line diagrams, riser drawings, and specifications.
• Experience with estimating tools such as Bluebeam, Accubid, or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, distributed team environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in estimate development.
• Strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

• Experience with multi-campus data center programs.
• Estimating or project management certifications (e.g., ASPE, AACE, PMP).
• Familiarity with cloud-based estimating platforms or digital takeoff tools.
• Experience with OSP/ISP fiber routing, meet-me rooms, backbone infrastructure, and cross-connects.
• Familiarity with CostX, WinEst, Trimble, Power BI, or Tableau for cost analytics.

Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of project scope, design documents, specifications, and client requirements across hyperscale data center programs.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical and telecom/fiber systems at all project stages: concept, schematic, design development, and construction documents.
• Interpret drawings and specifications to produce accurate quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns.
• Lead the development of bid packages, value engineering proposals, and estimate submissions, ensuring alignment with client expectations and project goals.
• Analyze subcontractor/vendor proposals for accuracy, completeness, and competitiveness.
• Collaborate with preconstruction, engineering, procurement, and project management teams to validate scope and develop cost strategies.
• Track historical cost data, benchmarks, and industry trends to inform estimate assumptions and improve pricing accuracy.
• Prepare cost comparison and variance reports and provide regular updates to internal and client stakeholders.
• Participate in risk assessments and assist in identifying cost-related risks and mitigation strategies during estimate development.
• Support contract negotiations and award recommendations with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating tools, templates, and cost databases.
• Interface regularly with clients, general contractors, and internal teams to ensure alignment on cost expectations.
• Deliver executive-level presentations, estimate summaries, and proposal documentation.
• Prepare independent cost estimates (ICEs) and provide advice to clients on cost reasonableness.
• Conduct and support detailed BOQ and rate analysis, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Provide value engineering input to optimize costs while maintaining quality and compliance with industry standards.
• Maintain detailed records of estimates, assumptions, and methodologies for future reference and audit purposes.
• Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and advancements in electrical and telecom/fiber technologies to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
