S&ME is looking for an eager and dedicated full-time Senior Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental team in Columbia, South Carolina. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Biological or Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• Minimum of 10 years of environmental experience.
• 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certified.
• Excellent project management and team leadership skills.
• Excellent business and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects independently, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and sustainable business goals.
• Manage small to medium-sized projects, consulting with senior staff on technical matters.
• Plan and execute field investigations, including drilling, sampling, data collection, natural resources assessments, and hazardous building material assessments.
• Lead teams during fieldwork to ensure effective environmental evaluations.
• Independently verify calculations, review laboratory data, and formulate recommendations.
• Coordinate and prepare professional reports, adhering to company policies and technical best practices.
• Develop scope and fee proposals for small to medium projects under senior guidance.
• Guide junior staff, foster their development, and actively participate in industry organizations.
