  • Provide technical expertise and guidance for environmental projects and programs at the assigned site.
  • Determine and assess environmental risk and develop regulatory documentation of results.
  • Perform hazardous waste site inspections and recommend appropriate actions to management in compliance with regulations.
  • Review and develop recommendations regarding planned expansion, modification, or closure of facilities affecting environmental discharges, emissions, and hazardous materials.
  • Serve as Project Manager or technical expert on large/complex environmental projects such as compliance, remediation, or reclamation.
  • Evaluate and administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment.
  • Provide guidance and counsel to the site management team on applicable programs, practices, and existing/proposed regulations.
  • Contribute to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for environmental systems and issues.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Federal, State, and local environmental and occupational health regulations.
  • Provide leadership to less experienced engineers and technicians.
  • Represent the site on company-sponsored steering teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, Earth Science, or related Natural Science, or Mathematics/Computer Science, or Business Management with five years of related experience, OR a Master's degree in a related field with three years of related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (such as Environmental, Civil, Chemical, etc.) with five years of Engineering experience in Environmental Management, including Project Management experience, OR a Master's degree in Engineering with three years of Engineering experience in Environmental Management.
  • Additional certification or licensure appropriate to the job may be required or preferred.
  • Experience with personnel supervision.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge/experience with Federal and Arizona State solid waste regulation and programs.
