About The Position

TRC is seeking a talented, motivated, and experienced Civil or Environmental Engineer to join the Engineering, Construction, and Remediation team in our Austin, Texas office. The position requires a strong technical background and a solid reputation of building and maintaining key client relationships. This position will act as project engineer on remediation, compliance, and construction projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental consulting
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in civil or environmental engineering
  • PE license in the State of Texas
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing proposals and executing work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High safety awareness and willingness to adhere to all aspects of TRC's rigorous behavior-based health and safety programs
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER training, including current 8-hour refresher, is preferred
  • Some travel, early start times, and occasional night or weekend work will be required
  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test and a company physical exam

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and certification of SPCC plans
  • Preparation of construction and industrial stormwater SWPPPs
  • Design, installation, and operation and maintenance of remediation systems, including soil vapor extraction, bioventing, dual-phase extraction, total fluid recovery, and product skimming systems
  • Preparation of NPDES/TPDES-related documents
  • Design, construction oversight, and inspection of liner systems
  • Compliance monitoring for construction and industrial stormwater permits
  • Facility-related environmental regulatory auditing, permitting, and reporting
  • Project management
  • Preparation of technical reports under the direction of a Senior Manager/Engineer
  • Conduct site investigations, water sampling/monitoring, use automated equipment, and field data reporting
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, and deliver responsive, high-quality services
  • Review RFPs/RFQs and prepare proposals and statements of qualifications
