The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has a full-time opportunity available for a Senior Enterprise System Architect (Information Systems Specialist 7) in Portland, Oregon. This position is limited duration for 12 months with the potential of being extended or made permanent pending Budget and Legislature approval. Requirements

  • 6 years of information systems experience, OR 4 years of information systems experience and an Associate's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, OR 2 years of information systems experience and a Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related degree, OR Master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to write information systems security documentation, including alerts, policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Experience providing enterprise-level technical and security controls coordination between multiple entities within a federal, state and/or local government environment.
  • Demonstrated experience creating configuration requests, testing, and maintaining implemented firewall rules and related security infrastructure devices.
  • Demonstrated experience configuring, administering, and maintaining cloud security infrastructure objects.
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud information security concepts, best practices, application of NIST standards, and CIS controls.
  • Knowledge of information security concepts, best practices, application of NIST standards, and CIS controls.
  • Demonstrated experience and application of Information Technology Infrastructure Library concepts in an enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to support enterprise-level development operations, including application deployments, security certificate creation, and application configuration management.
  • IT acumen including a broad knowledge of, and ability to use, a variety of computers, software, scripting languages, application programming interface connectivity, networking, and security information systems.
  • Expert knowledge of and experience with Microsoft software, Cisco networking, cloud-based solutions, and general IT security standards.
  • Experience being responsible for security management in a multi-platform environment.
  • Experience providing strategic direction, research, design, development, implementation, and operational support for hybrid server-based infrastructures and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and provide strategic direction, enterprise-wide planning, research, design, development, implementation, and operational support of Agency-wide hardware/software computer facilities.
  • Manage server operating systems and local and wide-area network communications security.
  • Oversee aspects of security management in a multi-platform environment with over 800 user accounts and 3 security platforms.
