About The Position

The Senior Engineering Technician, Automation, is responsible for maintaining a highly functional engineering laboratory that supports development, characterization, and validation activities across multiple product lines. As a key member of the Automation team, this role contributes to the reliability and performance of automated test systems through hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. This position involves configuring custom bench‑top test setups, managing laboratory equipment and consumables, coordinating calibration services, and supporting the building and verification of custom automated test systems. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, technical depth, initiative, and the ability to solve diverse and complex problems with sound judgment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a product development laboratory environment; RF experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in RF test and measurement techniques
  • Hands-on experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators
  • Strong troubleshooting skills at the system, PCB, and component levels
  • Experience with RF wafer probing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from schematics and technical drawings
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities
  • High mechanical aptitude; enjoys hands-on work and is proficient in soldering

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring laboratory readiness and availability of test resources for all product development activities
  • Managing calibration, repair services, and scheduling for test and measurement equipment
  • Performing setup, calibration, verification, and routine maintenance of automated test stations
  • Managing inventory, procurement, and organization of lab supplies and equipment
  • Assisting in the construction, integration, and validation of custom test systems
  • Collecting measurement data to support product development and characterization
  • Contributing to a highly organized, efficient, and productive lab environment
  • Supporting data analysis and generating test reports as needed
