About The Position

We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Engineering Manager, based in the US, to lead and mature software development teams within one of our key business lines. This role requires a deep involvement in technical details, a strong focus on execution, and the ability to manage complex projects with your team, while growing them as individuals. You will work closely with product management and business stakeholders to ensure that your team’s products meet the highest standards of quality and performance. The ideal candidate has extensive experience executing on the product delivery roadmaps, driving a culture of excellence, and delivering high-quality solutions through effective collaboration, process improvement, and talent management. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, with at least 3-5 years in an Engineering Manager or Senior Engineering Manager role.
  • Proven track record of managing and leading engineering teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated success in guiding a team's transition from legacy applications to microservices architectures.
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, including scalability, availability, and security.
  • Experience in process improvement and driving organizational change within a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget.
  • Can-do attitude with a passion for solving complex technical challenges.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Ruby, React, AWS cloud services, Postgres, Data pipelines is a plus.
  • Experience leading and inspiring geographically distributed teams.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership and Execution: Contribute to the technical vision and strategy for evolving our systems into a modern, scalable architecture. Lead your engineering team(s) to achieve our strategic goals, while fostering innovation and efficiency in the process. Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of software applications and systems.
  • Rigorous Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive plan and roadmap for your team's products and features, aligning them with the company's goals and objectives. Identify opportunities for improvement, define key performance indicators (KPIs), and establish operational excellence within your team.
  • Execution Oversight: Identify and mitigate technical risks for your team, ensuring the reliability and scalability of your domain’s products. Guide the design and implementation of distributed services, ensuring alignment with overall architectural goals. Manage your team's contribution to the evolution of legacy systems.
  • SDLC Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains within the team's software development lifecycle. Implement and standardize development methodologies, tools, and practices such as continuous integration, continuous deployment, infrastructure as code, and automated testing. Streamline workflows to accelerate software delivery while maintaining quality and stability.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including software engineering, product management, and operations, to align product initiatives with business requirements. Communicate clearly and concisely with stakeholders, ensuring transparency, gathering feedback, and maintaining alignment with organizational goals.
  • Team Building and Talent Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team. Recruit top talent, foster a diverse and inclusive environment, and provide coaching and professional development opportunities. Encourage a growth mindset and create a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
  • Incident Response and Risk Management: Manage the team's incident response efforts, ensuring prompt resolution of critical issues and minimizing downtime. Support the establishment of robust disaster recovery and business continuity strategies. Identify and mitigate risks related to infrastructure, security, and compliance within your domain.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating relevant advancements into your team’s products and processes.
