This position is for an experienced Systems Engineering Manager to support the Cross Domain Solutions program. Join the Mission Systems Secure Systems Department and help shape, define, and design communication solutions that connect militaries around the world! As a Systems Engineering Manager, you will lead a team as they design and develop military products ensuring safe and protected communication. You will interface with multi-discipline engineering teams to create total system solutions, addressing both domestic and international customer needs.

  • Lead a technical team to ensure defined requirements are consistently met throughout the complete lifecycle of the program.
  • Create system level requirements, architectures and designs.
  • Requirements management and verification.
  • Determine appropriate requirement verification methods and demonstrate completion of requirements via the named verification method.
  • Create and track metrics related to program execution such as requirements completion status, requirements volatility, requirement sizing, team efficiency and burndown rate.
  • Create required project documentation in support of contract execution and deliverables.
  • Support bid and proposal efforts including BOE generation.
  • Interface with all engineering disciplines.
  • Guide team members on the management of scope, schedule, and budget for engineering design activities.
  • Directly involved in project management and execution, including Earned Value and Risk Management.
  • Recruit and assign tasking to talented engineers, provide performance assessments and career development.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • Experience leading a team of engineers.
  • Experience with the systems development process, including requirements capture, design, decomposition, integration, verification/validation, and transition to production.
  • Willing to travel occasionally to interface with team.
  • Experience leading a distributed team.
  • Familiarity with the Scaled Agile Framework.
  • Exceptionally strong communication skills, experience presenting technical data to program management and executive leadership.
  • Experience with tools such as DOORS, CAMEO or similar.
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering.
