About The Position

Crusoe's mission is to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. We’re crafting the engine that powers a world where people can create ambitiously with AI — without sacrificing scale, speed, or sustainability. Be a part of the AI revolution with sustainable technology at Crusoe. Here, you'll drive meaningful innovation, make a tangible impact, and join a team that’s setting the pace for responsible, transformative cloud infrastructure. About the Role: We are hiring a Senior Engineering Leader to lead our Network Operations team. This leader will drive initiatives to improve availability, reliability, and efficiency at scale, and shape the future of how Crusoe builds and operates Crusoe Cloud.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in large-scale network engineering and operations, including 5+ years in leadership roles managing global or multi-site teams.
  • Proven success operating high-availability, low-latency networks supporting HPC, AI, or hyperscale cloud workloads.
  • Experience in routing, switching, and overlay technologies (BGP, IS-IS/OSPF, EVPN, VXLAN, MPLS, QoS).
  • Strong understanding of telemetry, observability, and performance analytics (SNMP, IPFIX, sFlow/NetFlow, gNMI, streaming telemetry).
  • Experience with major network platforms such as Arista, Juniper, Cisco, and NVIDIA/Mellanox, as well as merchant silicon (Broadcom, Barefoot, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with RDMA, InfiniBand, RoCE, and GPU fabric design preferred.
  • Experience integrating public cloud connectivity (AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI) into private backbone environments.
  • Understanding of IPv6 adoption and coexistence strategies at scale.
  • Strong background in network automation and programmability (Python, Ansible, Terraform, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Define the long-term operational strategy for global AI infrastructure, including datacenters, edge POPs, backbone networks, and interconnect fabrics supporting GPU clusters.
  • Drive reliability, availability, and performance targets for mission-critical AI training and inference environments.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop distributed Network Operations teams across the United States and Dublin.
  • Build a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish clear roles, career paths, and succession planning for engineers, managers, and leads in both regions.
  • Ensure seamless follow-the-sun operational coverage and escalation workflows across time zones.
  • Own end-to-end operations of the global network serving AI workloads—edge, backbone, datacenters, and GPU fabrics.
  • Oversee monitoring, alerting, incident response, and root-cause analysis for high-impact events.
  • Drive SLO/SLA definitions, adherence, and operational KPIs across latency, jitter, throughput, packet loss, and availability.
  • Build robust on-call rotations, escalation processes, and operational playbooks.
  • Partner closely with Network Architecture, DCIE, Customer Success, Compute, Storage, and SRE teams.
