Your Mission The Engine Infrastructure and Security (InfraSec) group is working to provide a cloud ecosystem where building new services or environments is automatic and economical for the business, and where integrated cloud services create leverage, velocity, and quality for our engineers. As the Engineering Manager for the Infrastructure Systems team, you will lead the design, delivery, and operation of cloud environments, service infrastructure, build/deploy, and ecosystem services. You will be responsible for hiring, mentoring, and empowering a high-performing team of engineers, driving technical excellence, and ensuring scalable and reliable infrastructure that accelerates development across the organization. What You’ll Bring to Engine We’re looking for someone who’s ready to make an impact and grow alongside us:

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a software engineer, infrastructure engineer, or DevOps engineer, with at least 3 years leading and managing software development or infrastructure teams.
  • Proven ability to hire, coach, and develop engineers while driving high performance through effective feedback and performance management.
  • Strong experience organizing and leading agile software development processes, managing projects from inception to delivery while ensuring velocity, quality, and alignment with business goals.
  • Skilled in defining and maintaining a technical roadmap, balancing short-term execution with long-term strategy to build scalable, reliable infrastructure.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency with Terraform and familiarity with declarative frameworks such as CloudFormation, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or Pulumi.
  • Containerization: Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for managing and orchestrating containerized applications.
  • Observability: Knowledge of logging, monitoring, metrics, and alerting systems to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Configuration Management & Service Discovery: Understanding of data organization, partitioning, storage, retrieval, and leveraging automation tools for orchestration.
  • CI/CD: Experience working with build, deploy, and artifact management tools to support efficient software delivery pipelines.
  • Cloud Networking: Understanding of VPC/VNet architecture, peering, and hybrid connectivity, global traffic management, load balancing, and CDN integration.
  • Cost Optimization: Experience with visibility (tagging/reporting), and driving down costs including use of optimization tools and managing reservations and savings plans.
  • Results-driven leader who takes ownership of outcomes, prioritizes business value, and helps teams focus and execute.
  • A strong communicator and consensus builder who effectively manages stakeholders.
  • Leads by example with a strong work ethic, high standards, and a practical approach to balancing tradeoffs.
  • Committed to coaching and fostering team growth while driving performance.
