About The Position

The Senior Engineering Manager for Cloud Operations at Posit will lead a team responsible for maintaining and operating shared infrastructure services, corporate data warehousing, and site reliability engineering. This role emphasizes collaboration, stakeholder management, and technical leadership to enhance the software development process and ensure the effective delivery of projects. The position offers a balance of flexibility and stability, allowing the manager to influence multiple early-stage products while maintaining work-life balance in a profitable company.

Requirements

• Proven experience in engineering management, particularly in cloud operations.
• Strong technical understanding of software development and operations.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience with infrastructure services such as CI/CD, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with data operations and site reliability engineering.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with open-source software development.
• Knowledge of data science workflows and tools.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of individual contributors in Cloud Operations.
• Prioritize and communicate the roadmap for CloudOps, selecting impactful projects.
• Negotiate with vendors for services managed by the team.
• Support team members in their professional growth and development.
• Collaborate with QA, Engineering, and Security managers to improve software development processes.
• Implement cloud best practices with engineering teams.
• Enhance the security, performance, scalability, and reliability of existing services.
