About The Position

The Engineer VI - Engineering Manager applies a thorough knowledge of current engineering principles and practices across various aspects affecting the organization. This role utilizes expertise acquired through progressive experience to address crucial issues and unique conditions. The Engineer VI - Engineering Manager stays informed about new methods and developments, recommending new practices or changes in program emphasis while managing programs of limited complexity and scope.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with electronic communication including e-mail and text, as well as standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Possess advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Represent the organization and maintain liaison with individuals and related organizations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
  • 10+ years of prior experience required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE).

  • Master’s degree or equivalent.
  • Engaged in life-long learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues.
  • Member of a professional practice organization, national board member or officer, or national technical or policy committee member.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Technical Discipline Team: Manage and guide a technical discipline team within the organization.
  • Technical Specialist: Serve as the technical specialist in applying advanced concepts, principles, and methods in an assigned area.
  • Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date with new developments and requirements, recommending changes in programs or applications.
  • Project Coordination: Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned or required to meet business needs.
  • Supervise a staff of engineers and designers.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate the preparation of documents or activities for multiple major projects, or oversee an entire program of the organization.
  • Review operational procedures to ensure compliance with applicable policies and performance measures.
