About The Position

Collins Aerospace is looking to hire an Engineering Lab Assistant to join the Mission Systems Organization. This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered. This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

Requirements

  • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience reading engineering drawings and using lookup tools.
  • Previous experience with printed circuit design build and repairs to include multi-pin cable and connector builds and cable continuity verification.
  • Familiarity with repair and assembly workmanship standards: IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001.
  • Familiarity with ESD Controls standard: ANSI/ESD S20.20.
  • Familiarity with Test Engineering Support: ISO/IEC-17025a.
  • Familiarity on how to interpret and apply Safety Data Sheets for handling materials such as solder, flux, and cleaners.

Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical and mechanical station build support for research, design, development or manufacturing activities.
  • Responsible for reading engineering drawings and building engineering builds and associated cabling and connectors.
  • Use engineering tools and systems to look up reference and program information needed.
  • Assist engineers with the development of new engineering processes and/or products to ensure their manufacturability.
  • May recommend design changes.
  • Printed circuit design build and repairs to include multi-pin cable and connector builds and cable continuity verification.
