About The Position

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Engineering Geologist or Geological Engineer to join their Geotechnical Engineering Team in Merrimack, NH. The role involves applying expertise in geology and engineering to manage and execute geotechnical projects, develop client relationships, and mentor junior staff. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in applied geology, client development, and project management, with a focus on geohazards and engineering geology.

Requirements

  • Must have valid PG or PE in a New England state or ability to obtain it.
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or Geological Engineering required; Master's or PhD preferred.
  • 5 to 7 years of post-education related experience.
  • Experience managing subsurface investigations including drilling and soil/rock classification.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills with demonstrated report writing skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years of demonstrated client development/management experience.
  • Broad experience in transportation, energy, mining, and land development projects.
  • Existing strong client relationships in relevant sectors.
  • Experience managing mid to large-size, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Specialized computer skills including AutoCAD or Microstation, GIS, and modeling software.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a cross-functional team on geologic and geotechnical engineering projects.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships by providing technical expertise and quality consulting services.
  • Assist in the analysis and interpretation of data from field investigations for project development.
  • Plan and manage subsurface field geologic exploration programs including drilling and test pit explorations.
  • Provide final interpretation of soil, rock core, and televiewer data.
  • Develop conceptual geologic models based on subsurface conditions.
  • Supervise geologists in field reconnaissance and mapping for geologic hazard identification.
  • Analyze and work on rock fall mitigation designs and provide construction support during implementation.
  • Act as a liaison between geologists and other experts.
  • Conduct geologic research and write project proposals and reports.
  • Provide technical direction and mentoring to junior staff.
