AECOM is currently seeking Senior Engineering Geologist candidates to support Geo-Civil projects from our Orange, California office. Responsibilities of the role will include maintaining long-term relationships with clients in civil infrastructure and mining by providing technical expertise, attending client and project meetings, managing client expectations, and supporting business development pursuits. The role involves planning, budgeting and executing surface and subsurface field geologic and geotechnical exploration and managing support staff required to execute investigations. Experience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on time and on budget project delivery is essential. The candidate will collaborate with geotechnical and structural engineers to develop robust dam designs, prepare proposals, cost estimates, and schedules, perform geologic field reconnaissance and mapping for the identification of geologic hazards and site characterization, and provide support on the design and installation of ground water wells and geotechnical instrumentation. Additionally, the role requires interpretation of site conditions including geologic, geochemical, and geophysical data, developing geologic models for complex geologic site conditions, and performing liaison activities with regulatory agencies on behalf of clients. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary for writing clear and concise technical reports and documents and making high-quality presentations. The candidate will also mentor younger geologic staff to support their development and success.
