About The Position

The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Radiology is seeking an Engineering Director to manage the day-to-day operations of the Engineering Team in the Department of Radiology. Develop and manage the development and implementation of practical, creative, functional, safe and affordable solutions to technical problems using scientific knowledge, ingenuity, mathematics and engineering principles.

Requirements

  • Completion of a master’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • At least three years of comprehensive leadership/management experience
  • Experience in financial management, data analysis, and budgeting
  • Knowledge and experience with organizational management software tools (i.e. Excel, Visio, Micro-Main, Microsoft Office, CAD, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligences
  • Driver's license and ability to meet the University of Iowa Fleet Management Driver’s safety requirements.
  • Ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively in a welcoming and respectful workplace environment.

Nice To Haves

  • LEAN and/or Six Sigma experience or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Experience with continual process and quality improvement
  • Knowledge of digital and analog electronics, high voltage distribution systems and electro-mechanical device
  • Knowledge and experience maintaining diagnostic imaging systems, including general X-ray, CT and MRI
  • Basic working knowledge of diagnostic imaging equipment, radiation detection and radioisotope principles
  • Knowledge of imaging PACs
  • Experience in the assembly, installation, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical/electrical components and equipment
  • Working knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
  • Demonstrated excellent problem-solving ability in order to resolve issues and insure functionality
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently or within a team environment
  • Knowledge of University of Iowa Policies and Procedures.
