The State Water Project Analysis Office is looking for a dynamically engaged Senior Engineer, Water Resources with a can-do attitude to join its team. Do you want to be aware of how the SWP operates and understand how the SWP functions financially? Do you want to interact with all levels of DWR? Under the general direction of the Section Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the supervision of staff providing project management and technical and functional assistance supporting operations and maintenance of the Department of Water Resources (DWR) Portfolio-Project Management and Resources Management (PPM/RM) planning and SAP Cost and Billing (CAB) systems, including the Business Intelligence/Cross-Modular Reporting (BI/CMR) tool, and assistance in consultant contract management. Supporting tasks include maintaining and creating training end-user materials, system testing procedures and best practices, master and interface data validation and maintenance, enhancements and defect log tracking, system documentation, and meeting coordination for system Business Managers. Requirements

  • Must possess a valid California driver's license with a good driving record in order to drive to various meetings and project locations.

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in project and program planning, cost estimations and allocations, and reporting activities with DWR's SAP (or similar) systems.
  • Experience or knowledge in the SWP operations for water and power, management of the development and financing of SWP system facilities and understanding of the SWP program control processes and master data.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, management skills such as organization, project management, prioritization and coordination, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Work cooperatively with others, maintain consistent, regular, predictable attendance, and exercise good judgment.
  • Applicants should possess strong research, analytical, and solution development skills and the ability to train system users.
