About The Position

The Senior Engineer, Validation Commissioning at AbbVie is a pivotal role that involves collaborating with project owners, subject designers, engineers, and other team members to effectively plan and execute tasks related to the commissioning, qualification, and validation of new and modified equipment, facilities, utilities, products, and processes. This position is integral to ensuring that all operations align with project objectives, operational standards, and quality requirements. The engineer will be responsible for establishing comprehensive evaluation, testing, and documentation processes that adhere to regulatory requirements and risk management protocols, ultimately leading to the delivery of robust and high-quality products. In this role, the Senior Engineer will support the Global Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation (CQV) management and strategy development, contributing to initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of CQV processes. This includes managing licenses, training, change requests, and developing work instructions as part of the Global Paperless CQV initiatives. The engineer will also lead cross-functional global teams to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities and cost reductions, ensuring that policies, procedures, and best practices are consistently updated and followed. The Senior Engineer will act as a Subject Matter Expert in AbbVie’s Paperless CQV initiative and will provide comprehensive CQV support throughout the entire project lifecycle. This includes scope management, scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating activities with cross-functional teams and contractors. The role requires strategic planning for CQV execution, including the development of RACIs, scopes, and project resourcing. Additionally, the engineer will be responsible for departmental KPI development and management, document control, and preparing periodic status reports for internal stakeholders. The position also involves leading continuous improvement efforts and managing change control for C&Q and Engineering documents, ensuring that all changes are technically justified and documented appropriately. Furthermore, the Senior Engineer will manage smaller team projects within larger initiatives, which may include project coordination, monitoring, reporting, and team communication. Participation in industry groups and forums to share best practices is also expected, along with supporting departmental FAT, SAT, and IV/OV executions.
