About The Position

The Senior Systems Engineer builds, designs, maintains functionality, and optimizes performance and security for more than one Company-wide infrastructure system, tool or process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience; experience working in multi-facility healthcare information services department.
  • Business Mathematical Skills -- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Technical Computer Skills: Demonstrate use of intermediate computer operations (basic programming, relational databases, and operating systems) and intermediate software packages.
  • Complex Communication -- Frequently communicates complex information and interacts with management. Can present, resolve, and address delicate situations. Can motivate and persuade others.
  • Varied Business Problems -- Problems are varied and complex, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation. Problems are solved using knowledge and skills, general precedents, and practices.
  • Department Specific Impact -- Decisions impact the management and operations within a department. May contribute to business and operational decisions that affect the department.
  • Functional Independent Judgment -- Provides and sets goals and priorities for functional area. May make recommendations for department policies, practices, and programs. Makes decisions for and/or resolves problems for others.
  • Project Management Planning / Organization -- Handle multiple projects simultaneously including task delegation, project oversight, and resource allocation.

Responsibilities

  • Act as subject matter expert (SME) for more than one information system, tool or process providing expertise, guidance, and standardization for LifePoint and acquired entities.
  • Build, design, and optimize infrastructure system, tool or process to support Health Informatics & Technology Services (HITS) Infrastructure Systems strategic objectives and continually seek opportunities for efficiencies through automation and new product recommendation.
  • Develop workflow and methodology process to support infrastructure system, tool or process.
  • Triage, document and act as level 3 issues resolution from ticket management system.
  • Primary point of contact for strategic technology vendor relationships, ensures vendor accountability and alignment to business objectives.
  • Understand and evaluate applicable risk associated with assigned information system, tool or process and pro-vide guidance to leadership.
  • Provide business leadership support in areas of procurements, budget recommendations, and forecasting for specific information system, tool or process.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
