Senior Engineer, Transmission System Planning (Eversource Energy Service Company) Hartford, CT: Develop and maintain the system models for transmission studies including collection, review and/or modification of a variety of electric system parameters: equipment ratings, impedances, contingency sets, protection and control parameters, as well as system topology. Conduct adequacy assessments and develop options to meet delivery objectives with latitude for independent action and decision making. Typical reliability studies include analyses of power flow, transient stability, short circuit, and electromagnetic transients. Identifies key technical issues and develops solutions. Responsible for understanding, interpreting and applying federal, regional (ISO-NE) , industry and corporate transmission planning standards and the regulations of Federal, State and Local authorities. Participate with other utilities and the planning staff of the Independent System Operator (ISO) in the preparation of regional transmission expansion studies. Collaborate with engineers in System Planning, Transmission Asset Strategy, and personnel in Electric Operations in performing analyses and providing technical support in planning. Train junior staff in technical analyses and procedures.
