About The Position

As a Senior Engineer in System Engineering, you'll be at the forefront of designing and delivering cutting-edge control system solutions that power complex machinery and processes. You will report to the Engineering Team Leader and have a hybrid schedule working in Mayfield Heights, OH.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Relevant Field.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Willingness to work or travel on non-standard work-days when needed to meet critical project deadlines.
  • The ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • U.S. Citizenship.

Nice To Haves

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electromechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation products and software tools, or equivalent industrial automation products.
  • 5+ years experience in the design of industrial automation control systems and/or related application experience.
  • Leadership capability in applications of the different areas of automation systems including the interaction of mechanical, fluid, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and/or other modeling software tools.
  • Familiarity with electrical standards NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 79, and/or UL508A.
  • Technical writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of technical tasks with minimal direction.
  • Analyze customer's requirements to determine the optimal control system solution and determine applicable hardware and software control configuration/architecture.
  • Perform conceptual hardware & software systems design, determination of control system strategy to meet customers' requirements while complying with industry codes/standards and assure that personnel/machinery safety practices are implemented.
  • Perform software development and design of custom application software.
  • Oversee integration of 3rd party hardware and control systems.
  • Write technical specifications and project reports as required.
  • Visit 3rd party suppliers and/or panel shops to assess progress, provide technical assistance and carry out inspections.
  • Lead the technical planning and direction of internal and customer system testing.
  • Take ownership of issues, capable of engaging all levels of the organization to drive issues to resolution.
  • Provide on-site control system commissioning as required.
  • Function as the sole Lead Technical Engineer on small to mid-size projects and provide technical oversight to other engineers on the project team.
