As a Senior Engineer supporting Research & Development, you will play a pivotal role in advancing projects focused on the development and evaluation of sapphire fibers for integration into Alcon’s innovative fiber-optic technologies. Your responsibilities will include optimizing and enhancing the performance of the fibers. In this role, a typical day will include: Collaborate with staff to investigate the properties of sapphire fibers Measure, polish, and test tips and fibers Support research activities pertaining to performance improvements of sapphire fibers

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
• 2 Years of Relevant Experience
• Experience with fiber engineering and lasers; opto-mechanical skills desired
• Programming knowledge, specifically Python and Labview
• Willing to be hands-on to grow, polish, and test sapphire fiber

Responsibilities
