About The Position

Join AMD's DCGPU Platform Power Design Team, where we architect and deliver advanced platforms for AMD's Instinct GPUs. Our work directly shapes the power design of every AMD graphics board offered worldwide. We develop high-performance, cutting-edge power converters that maximize efficiency, responsiveness, and performance in some of the most demanding compute environments. As a Power Design Engineer, you'll collaborate with system architects, silicon teams, validation engineers, and external partners to design, analyze, and validate state-of-the-art power delivery networks. This role offers the opportunity to innovate at the forefront of GPU technology while working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative engineering environment.

Requirements

  • Expertise in power supply architecture and PDN design for servers, OAM, or PCIe-based platforms.
  • Strong background in multi-phase buck/buck-boost regulators, digital PWM controllers, bus converters, LDOs, PMICs, charge pumps, ADCs, DACs.
  • Hands-on experience with PCB design, schematic capture, and tools such as OrCAD or Allegro.
  • Knowledge of high-frequency magnetics design and power electronics.
  • Familiarity with control theory, closed loop compensation, stability analysis, and phase margin.
  • Proficiency with EM simulation tools (e.g., Sigrity PowerDC, PowerSI, SiWave).
  • Skilled in analog circuit modeling and simulation (Simplis, PSpice, HSpice).
  • Strong lab skills using oscilloscopes, e-loads, function generators, and related equipment.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and make trade-offs for optimal system performance.
  • Knowledge of AMD's SVIx power management interface is a plus.
